Vertagear launched the new 800 series gaming chair in November 2023. I designed not only the products but also the manual and packaging. I participated in creating marketing content using a 3D model.

The current flat and firm lumbar support causes users to suffer from back pain after prolonged use. We should create an ergonomic lumbar shape and use comfortable materials for the new model.

Everyone has a different back shape and hip size. When using a PC, nobody sits still. We should consider new lumbar support and seating options to adjust comfort based on the user's body type and movement.

Odor and harmful microbes are caused by non-breathable leather. We have adopted coffee ground fiber in some of our products. However, we decided to use this fiber for all 800 models.

The current seat design is uncomfortable due to the two side wings. We have created a wide, waterfall-style seat design that eliminates any obstacles along the thighs. This design will be implemented universally across all models. Additionally, the lumbar support has been widened for improved comfort.

Flexible yet strong, four TPEE modules conform to the user's back shape.

Renovation Goal

New Style & New Color Selection

To keep up with evolving technologies, we updated the chair design while preserving its original shape. Our goal was to give it a fresh, modern look by introducing new seam lines and decorative details. Previously, the color options were limited to simple shades like blue, red, purple, and green. This time, we developed an entirely new color palette. After exploring various options, we selected Midnight Blue, Midnight Green, Midnight Purple, and Burgundy Red to further enhance the product’s distinctive character.

I designed four modules using SolidWorks and created test samples printed by a laser printer. Based on our design and testing, the factory began applying the four modules to a metal frame. After several rounds of feedback, the final structure was confirmed.
